Kathryn "Kathy" Throckmorton Shiflett

Kathryn Lee Shiflett, 62, of Lynchburg, VA, died Friday, December 10, 2021. She was the wife of Aaron Charles Shiflett for 42 years.
Born Tuesday, January 13, 1959, in Halifax County, VA, Kathy was a daughter of the late Noel Throckmorton and the late Blanche Juanita Saunders Throckmorton.
In addition to her husband Charles, she is survived by her daughter Kaitlin S. Ruiz, and her husband, Mario, of Lynchburg, She is also survived by her sister Jennifer T. Bomar and her husband, Tony, of South Boston.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Throckmorton of Halifax.
Kathy was the best witch that never was. If you had any questions about plants, she had the answer. Cooking? You know you’d never have a bad meal if it came from her. Old southern food was her specialty and friends still pass around her pimento cheese recipe as if it was gold. She was a wealth of information from rock music to carnival glass and her passions ran deep, especially for Halloween and decorating for all seasons and holidays. She loved to help and rescue animals and all the cats, dogs, and wildlife that have passed through her presence are enterally grateful for her caring spirit.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Friends of Campbell County Animal Control.
According to Kathy’s wishes, no services will be held.
