Kenneth D. Witt, Sr., age 69, of Lynchburg, went to be with the Lord Sunday, January 3, 2016.
He was the last young man to graduate from New London Academy. He retired after 46 years of service to B & W as a manufacturing engineer. He was a member of Timberlake United Methodist Church and the London Downs Senior Golf Group.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years: Carolyn B. Witt, sons and daughters-in –law: Kenneth D. Witt Jr., and Lisa G. Witt, Barry and Dianne Witt, daughter and son-in-law : Carlan Snipes, and Lenny Snipes, four Grandchildren: Kristin Surber and Jon Surber, Katie Hass and Chris Hass, Sierra Witt, and Dakota Witt, three great grandchildren: Scarlett Surber, Syrus Surber, Layton Hass, three brothers: Danny Witt III and Violet Taylor, Steve Stevens and Dee, Rick Stevens and Cheryl. Kenneth is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Kenneth will be Wednesday January 6, 2015 from 7 pm until 9 pm at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, 220 Breezewood Dr., Lynchburg, Virginia 24502. Celebration of Kenneth’s life will held at Timberlake United Methodist Church 11 am Thursday January 7, 2016 with the Rev. Lynn Alley-Grant and The Rev. Tom Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in Evington United Methodist Church Cemetery.
