Kenneth Earl Creasy

Kenneth Earl “Booza“ Creasy went to be with the Lord on August 14, 2018 at his residence where he has resided with his daughter for the last 15 years. He was surrounded by his family.
Born on Fox Ridge Farm in Forest, Virginia on September 19, 1938, he was the son of the late Gillie and Rowena Creasy. Kenneth was the eighth child born of eleven children and was the last one to remain. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Morris, Howard, Berkeley, Arlene, Thelma, Ray, Wesley, Vada, Irvin, and Mack. Kenneth spent his early years working on Fox Ridge Farm and he attended New London Academy. He was an active member of the FFA during his grade school years where he learned much about agriculture and practiced in his later years.
He is survived by his best friend of 60 years, Ellen Cash Kennedy, of Evington, Virginia. Also proceeding him in death is his late son, Phillip “David” Knight (wife Regina) of Forest, Virginia. He is survived by his granddaughters: Felicia Lewis and husband Chris of Appomattox, Virginia, Starla Knight of Asheville, North Carolina, daughter Pamela Knight and Leonard of Madison, Virginia; granddaughter Brandy Perrow and husband Mike of Concord, Virginia; daughter Robin Maddox of Lynchburg, Virginia; granddaughters Tabatha North and husband Brian of Forest, Virginia; Crystal Bryant and husband Jamerson of Forest, Virginia; Ashby Maddox and Robert of Lynchburg, Virginia; great grandchildren: Tyler Bradley, Andrew Bradley, Kyler Lewis, Ashlyn Lewis, Amber Lewis, Carter North, Parker North, Lawson Bryant, Aiden Perrow, Raelan Bryant, Vela Knight, Maddox Massie, and Philomena Knight and great-great granddaughter: Emmalee Grace (Emma) Bradley.
He also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Included are his forever lifelong friends: Butler, Boogie, Buck, John, David, Doug, and their families. Kenneth will be missed by his loving cat, “K.C. Cat”.
Kenneth was a very strong willed and determined man. For many years Kenneth owned and operated K. E. C. Construction Company out of Forest, Virginia. Throughout the years he continued to transform land into rural subdivisions in the surrounding areas. Kenneth spent some time living in Florida with a good friend, Sherman Hemsley, (aka George Jefferson) who was known for his role in the American sitcom called “The Jeffersons”. He enjoyed spending time on the set with Sherman for other television shows being produced. During his later years after returning to Virginia, Kenneth continued his prior work in construction. In 2005-2006, Kenneth established Leesville Estates in Campbell County. Much of his time was spent contributing to others, such as baking for UMW of Evington. Kenneth was a man of his word and he was extremely faithful to those he loved. Kenneth enjoyed cooking, especially for his family on Sundays. His specialty, as we all know, was baking his famous coconut pies in twenty minutes flat. Kenneth took great pride in being with his family and friends. In his spare time he loved working outdoors in the fields getting up hay and spending time at the stock and flea markets. He also made weekly trips to the Amish markets with friends and family. Kenneth graciously enjoyed his western movies daily. Everywhere Kenneth went, he was able to put a smile on someone’s face. Saturday nights were spent at New London dance with great friends. His favorite things were gatherings for making apple butter and Brunswick stew, in which he brought the community and family together. His dedication, devotion and hard work are a legacy that will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by all, but his family knows he’s celebrating and rejoicing with the Lord.
The family invites all of Booza’s relatives and friends to come celebrate his life. Visitation will be held Friday, August 17, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg. A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home and Crematory, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, VA. Pastor David Kountz of Blue Ridge Community Church will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Agape Center (agapecentersml.org). This is a nonprofit that will be established in the future in the city of Lynchburg. Agape is currently operated by his granddaughter, Tabitha North.
