Kenneth Leon Wright, 89, of Lynchburg, went to be with the Lord and his loving wife who preceded him 17 years ago on, Wednesday, March 7, 2018.
Kenneth was born in Lynchburg on April 26, 1928, a son of the late James Wright and Janie Evans Wright. He was a retired 20 year veteran of the United States Air Force serving in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. He also was retired with 20 years of service with B&W. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge #1727. Kenneth went to Monument Terrace to support the troops every Friday.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Jane McFaden Wright and a brother, Earl Collier Wright.
He is survived by his sons, Kenneth “Rudy” Wright and Rev. David “Buddy” Wright, both of Lynchburg; a brother, Ronald Wright(Betty) of Rustburg; three grandchildren, Tammy Shelton of Rustburg, Joseph Wright of Lynchburg, and Gene Evans (Holly) of Md.; six great-grandchildren: Amber Brooks (Daniel) of Concord, Kendall Shelton of Rustburg, Josh Brodgen of Concord, Khloe Wright of Lynchburg, and Heath and Sammie Jo Evans of Md.; and three great-great grandchildren, Gabriel, Nathaniel, and Harper Brooks all of Concord; and two loving dogs Tucker and Joe Joe Wright
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Tree of Life on Monday, March 12, 2018. A Celebration of Kenneth’s Life will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Tree of Life with Pastor Mike Dodson and Dr. Steven Keith, Sr. USAF officiating. Interment will follow the service in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
