Kenneth Nathaniel “Nathan” Gunter, 37, of Madison Heights, passed away Monday, July 26, 2021.
Born on October 21, 1983, and raised in Appomattox, he was the son of Kenneth Warren Gunter and the late Donna Hamilton Gunter. Nathan was preceded in death by his mother Donna Gunter and his grandparents Willie Boy Hamilton, Hattie Belle Hamilton and Thelma Gunter.
Nathan is survived by his three children, Bryce Nathaniel Gunter, Kirsten Grace Gunter and Levi Graham Gunter, all of Appomattox; his sister, Lindsey Taylor (Grandy) of Dillwyn; his aunt, Norma Steele (Barry) of Madison Heights; his uncle, Roger Branham (Peggy) of Monroe; nephews, Sawyer and Porter Taylor; a special cousin, Cory Steele; and his girlfriend, Mary Corbett.
Nathan was a loving father, brother, and friend. His children were the source of his love, and he took so much pride in all of their accomplishments. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Mission and a proud member of the Monacan Indian Nation. Nathan was an auto enthusiast and enjoyed building model cars, puzzles, listening to music and tending to the flowers his mother left for him.
The family will receive friends on Monday, August 2, 2021, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, 118 Commonwealth Dr, Madison Heights, VA 24572. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
