Kenneth Ronald "Kenny" Palmer

June 25, 1968 — January 26, 2024

Kenneth Ronald “Kenny” Palmer, 55, of Bedford went to be with his Lord and Savior after a very courageous battle with cancer. His strong will and determination to fight the good fight was so evident. Even though he was taken from this earth way too soon, Kenny touched many lives in his 55 years. Born on June 25, 1968, in Wurzburg, Germany. A son of Phyllis Sue Craig Lawrence and Emmett Lewis Lawrence. Kenny was preceded in death by his grandparents, Garland and Lorene Craig; aunt, Jean Dudley; cousin, Stephanie Williams and his brother-in-law, Keith Long.

Kenny and his wife Darlene are members of Parkway Church on the Mountain in Roanoke. He loved his Lord and always remained positive during his battles here on earth. His goal throughout this process was to continue to glorify God and to have faith to remain strong in knowing God’s plan. His strength, love and faith were an encouragement to his family and friends, and he hoped that others would grow in their own faith also. In his free time Kenny loved the outdoors while riding his bike, building trails, playing disc golf, and going for long runs. He worked as the Operations Coordinator for Bedford County Park and Recreation. Kenny’s love for life and his family was so pure. He will be missed daily by all his family, friends and all that knew him.

In addition to his parents Kenny was survived by his Wife, Darlene Long Palmer; three children, Isaac Palmer, Samara Palmer and Yvonne Hylton and her husband, Will; three grandchildren, Maddox Hylton, Ida Hylton, and Ivy Hylton; sister, Emmy Lawrence Witt and her husband, Shawn; nieces, Madisin Witt and her fiancée, Stephen, Cameron Witt, and Lexi Witt; Mother and Father-in-law, Lois and Donald Long. Also surviving are numerous other family and so many friends, especially his two best friends who were always there for him, Tim Snyder and Pete Kepler.
