Kenneth Wayne Dooley

Kenneth Wayne \"Ken\" Dooley, 58, of Roanoke, formerly of Bedford, died Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born September 6, 1952 in Bedford, Virginia, a son of the late Kenneth Odell Dooley and Kathleen Wheeler Dooley.

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his aunt, Audrey Montano. He is survived by a loving stepdaughter who he cherished Melanie Swiercinski; two brothers, J.T. Dooley and wife Gloria, Robbie Dooley and wife Meredith; three nephews, Michael Wayne Dooley, Jamie Dooley and wife Erin, Graham Dooley; two nieces, Melissa Taylor and husband Buck, Parry Dooley; two aunts, Pauline Zimmerman, Nancy Robertson and husband Garland; one uncle Butch Wheeler and wife Sandy all of Bedford; former wife and lifelong friend, Valerie Padar, and numerous other family and friends.  

A celebration of Ken\"™s life will be conducted at The Tharp Funeral Home Chapel, Sunday, February 27 at 2:00PM with Rev. Danny Holdren officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.     The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at The Tharp Funeral Home Chapel.
