Kimberly Osborne Mcguire

Kim was born in Lynchburg, VA on 12/14/1966 to Preston and Barbara Osborne.  She was the best big sister to her two “bratty” sisters.  She attended Rustburg High School where she met and fell in love with her husband, Brian McGuire.  They were married in 1988 and had been married for almost 32 years when she passed on June 28, 2020.

She leaves behind her parents; her husband; daughter, Kayman McGuire; step-grandmother Phyllis Coffey; sisters Anita (Jack) Mitchell and Audrey (Steve) Revis; her father and mother-n-law George and Wylene McGuire; sister-n-law Karen (Billy) Hale; nieces and nephews Phillip Hale, Kimberly McGuire, Tracy Pickeral, Brittany Gallahan, Rita Mitchell, Stacy Gallahan and Gavin Mitchell and one loved liked a daughter Crystal (Josh) Miller and four special blessings who called her ni-ni; Conner, Mason, Emily and Colt.  She was preceded in death by many loved ones who welcomed her with opened arms when she entered the gates of Heaven.

Kim and Brian shared a love and friendship most people will never experience.  Their marriage saw many great times but also some struggles, such as fertility and pregnancy issues which resulted in them having a true “miracle” daughter, Kayman in 1994 who is the love of their lives!  But the last and most difficult struggle was with Kim’s battle with stage 5 kidney disease.  Through it all, one thing never changed and that was their love for each other.

Kim held many differing jobs throughout her life but her fondest jobs were working with children, being a seamstress and selling Tupperware.  In these three avenues she made countless friends who she inspired up until the day of her passing.  Kim loved working with children so much she decided to go to college later in life and succeeded in obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education from Lynchburg College in 2014, which was one of her proudest accomplishments since she was also the first in her family to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree!  She was unable to obtain her dream of teaching special education due to her failing health, but she never stopped learning and helping others to the best of her ability.

Kim had battled kidney and heart disease for the past several years with the strength of a lion.  She endured pain and suffering that we hope others will never have to experience but through it all she remained positive and strong in her faith in God.  Kim was a mighty witness to all she knew and touched.  She was the absolute best seamstress and through this pandemic, even though she was extremely ill, she made masks and gave them to anyone who needed them.  She has helped more people than we will ever know, and we’ve been so touched by the outpouring of love.  Kim had the biggest heart and loved and was loved by so many.

Even though she never would have known this, we all agree that Kim’s lasting legacy and her biggest accomplishment in life will be her witness through this horrible illness. Her unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ even in the midst of such horrible circumstances has impacted so many.  Her positivity in light of her situation and her undying love for her family has now inspired others to try to be more like her.  To say she will be greatly missed in an understatement, there are no words, but her family and friends rejoice that she is now in Heaven, her body is now healed, she is no longer in pain or suffering but in the presence of Jesus!  What a glorious day!

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, July 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at Believer’s Fellowship located at 727 Old Graves Mill Road, Lynchburg, VA.
