Kimmie Catherine Hill Pollard was born on Friday, March 7, 1930, in Nelson County to the late Tom Hill, Sr. and Famie Chilton Hill. She quietly departed this life on Friday, June 23, 2017, at Guggenheimer Rehabilitation Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Tom, Jr., Roland, and Raymond Hill; and two sisters, Hattie Reid and Elizabeth Davis.
Kimmie was an active member of First Baptist Church, Coolwell, Amherst, Va. until her health failed. She was very dedicated to The Volunteer and Senior Chorus. Living in Jersey City for forty-three years, she and John returned to their home in Amherst County to live comfortably.
Kimmie leaves to cherish her memory her husband, John, and to this union they were blessed with a son, John, Jr. of Amherst, Va.; two grandchildren, John (Shavion) Malloy of Amherst,Va. and Kim (Rodney) Chapman of Jersey City, N.J.; five great-grandchildren: Justyn Chapman, Jordan Chapman, Jenae Malloy, Xavior Malloy, and Jenna Malloy; three sisters-in-laws: Dorothy Stevens, Elizabeth Smith, and Reba Brown; one-brother-in-law, Emmanuel Pollard (Odella); four devoted friends: Gail Warrick, Barbara Dickerson, Rita Malloy, and Ulysses Johnson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Madison Heights, is assisting the family.
