Kinsley Anne Justis

Kinsley Anne Justis, 24, of Forest, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly at her parents' home on May 21, 2025.

Kinsley was born on August 8, 2000, in Lynchburg, Virginia, and graduated from Jefferson Forest High School.

Kinsley had a vibrant personality and a deep love for all things creative. She expressed herself through drawing, fashion, makeup, and shoes—her sense of style was uniquely her own. She adored her two cats, Poppy and Ivy, who were her cherished companions. Kinsley also had a passion for reality TV and binge-watching series, and she loved creating cozy, inviting spaces that reflected her bold personality.

Kinsley was free-spirited, hippy, and had a gypsy soul at heart. She loved to take pictures, capturing moments that meant something to her. She had many great friendships and truly never met a stranger. Her energy was infectious—she loved to talk and brought a spirited brightness to every room she entered. A dedicated cheerleader, she began sideline and competition cheer at the age of five and continued through high school.

Kinsley had a long and courageous struggle with addiction. She was more than her illness—she was a daughter, a sister, and a friend who brought light to the lives of those who knew her. Kinsley’s warm spirit, laughter, creativity, and the love she gave so freely will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

Though her time was far too short, Kinsley lived with a depth of love and sincerity that touched everyone around her. She had a rare gift for making people feel seen, heard, and truly loved. Kinsley built deep, genuine connections with countless friends, never hesitating to remind them how much they meant to her. Her warmth, compassion, and infectious smile lit up every room she entered. She lived fully and fearlessly, with a heart open to all. Kinsley leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. Her spirit will forever live on in the many hearts she touched.

She is survived by her loving parents, Emory “Chip” Justis, III and Charlotte Moore Justis; her brothers, Nathan Justis and Blake Justis, all of Forest; her aunt, Jamie Bane, and uncle, Nelson Moore, both of Appomattox; her maternal grandparents, Ruth and Harold Bane of Appomattox; step-grandfather, Rodger Henderson of Madison Heights; and a host of great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins. 

Kinsley was preceded in death by her uncle, Donnivin Justis; paternal grandfather, Emory Justis, Jr.; maternal grandfather, Fred Moore; and paternal grandmother, Sylvia Hackworth Henderson.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Thomas Road Baptist Church – Pate Chapel, with Pastor Rick Rasberry officiating. Burial will follow at Moore’s Family Cemetery, 465 Carrie Lane, Concord, VA 24538.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, at Tharp Funeral Home in Lynchburg. The family also welcomes those who wish to offer their condolences to visit their residence.
