Kirk Jeffrey Holloway

d. February 28, 2019

Kirk Jeffrey Holloway, 55, of Forest, went to be with the Lord on February 28, 2019. He passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.

Kirk served honorably in the Air Force as an Airman 1st Class, having trained as a Metal Fabricating Specialist. He used his training obtained while enlisted to build a successful career as a welder. He served as a welder for over 30 years.  He even taught at Virginia Technical Institute, helping new students develop their skills in the craft of welding.

Kirk loved running and was an avid runner since high-school where he was involved in track and cross country. He obtained a track and cross country scholarship which enabled him to attend 4 years of college at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va. Kirk loved to roller-blade and play hockey and was an enthusiastic fan of the Detroit Red Wings. He was always serving others, using his roofing and carpentry skills as well as a myriad of other abilities. Kirk loved all things outdoors, such as spending time with his family camping, going to the beach, hiking, hunting and fishing. Kirk loved to fly and had trained as a pilot to operate small planes. Throughout his life he loved to build and fly model remote controlled airplanes.

Kirk’s primary passion was his faith. He exuded his love for the Lord everywhere he went and was always ready and willing to share his faith with anyone who came into his world.

Kirk is survived by his loving wife Kristina Beauvais Holloway; son, Luke Andrew, age 16; and daughter, Lauren Elizabeth, age 14. Also surviving are Kirk’s parents Howard R. Holloway and Sue A. Holloway of Houghton Lake, Mich.; brother, David R. Holloway of Nashville, Tenn.; sister, Michelle D. Holloway Swem and her husband Steve Swem of Fenwick, Mich. and their three children; mother-in-law, Beverly Beauvais of Norwalk, Ohio; sister-in-law, Julie Beauvais Westcott and her husband Jeff Westcott and their seven children, also of Norwalk, Ohio. Kirk is also survived by a large family of devoted aunts, uncles and cousins, all of whom adored him very much.

Kirk is preceded in death by his father-in-law Norman Beauvais, as well as maternal grandparents Edward ‘Doc’ and Ruthann Summers, and paternal grandparents Noel and Gretchen Holloway.
