Koda Jones

Koda Jones, beloved son of Daja Smith and Drequoin Jones, and baby brother of Da'jon Jones was born sleeping on October 5, 2024.

 Koda will live forever in the hearts of his parents and brother as well as his maternal grandparents; Kimberly Smith and Dennis Smith, paternal grandparent, Donna Jones; great grandparents, Beatrice B. Smith, Floyd Smith (Lucille), Dennis E. Smith Sr., Mildred Smith, Charlotte Anderson, and Thomas Lowell Jones; his aunts, Ebony Alexander, Kija Ford, Destini(Michael)Eldridge, Tre'sure Smith, Steevondra Green, and Amariah Jones; his uncles, Tremira Smith, Darnell Lambert, and Jamal Jones; as well as a host of cousins, great uncles, and aunts.

His presence in our lives will be celebrated in a small memorial service on October 18, 2024, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg.

 Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

These are my footprints

 These are my footprints, so perfect and so small. These tiny footprints never touched the ground at all. Not one tiny footprint, for now I have my wings. These tiny footprints were meant for other things. You will hear my tiny footprints, in the patter of the rain. Gentle drops like angel’s tears, of joy and not from pain. You will see my tiny footprints, in each butterfly’s lazy dance. I'll let you know I'm with you, if you give me just a chance. You will see my tiny footprints, in the rustle of the leaves. I will whisper names into the wind and call each one that grieves. Most of all, these tiny footprints are found in mommy's heart, cause even though I'm gone now, we'll never truly part.
