Lamont Lynn Edwards

Lamont Lynn Edwards Jr., of Madison Heights, Va, passed away on January 13, 2024. He was born on October 8, 1947, a son of the late Lamont Lynn Edwards Sr., and Vivian Ellinger Edwards.

Lamont was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and served in the capacity of Aircraft Technician during Vietnam. Most of his life was spent serving the pubic as Fire Chief for the Boonsboro Volunteer Fire Dept. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting for artifacts, such as arrowheads, bottles, civil war memorabilia, coins, and rocks. Lamont enjoyed being down by the river, living in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and listening to music. Later in life, he enjoyed peaceful living on the Galts Mill Farm, situated across from the James River.

In addition to his parents, Lamont was preceded in death by two brothers, Otis, and Donald Edwards.

Lamont is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Charlene Farthing Edwards; two sons, Lamont Lynn Edwards III (Lisa), and Jonathan Edwards (Crystal); one daughter, Rachael E. Ramsey (Kenton); mother of his children, Janice Saunders; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one sister, Vivian Groverstll; and numerous other family members and friends.
