Lance Joseph Plyter of Evington, Virginia went to be with his Beloved Savior on March 6, 2021 at the age of 50.
Lance is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Carolyn Plyter, his parents, Richard and Timandra Plyter of Lynchburg, Va.; his parents-in-law, John and Vicky Holt of Rustburg, Va., his brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Cindy Plyter and their children, Elissa, Maria (Pia), Holly, Anna, Natalie, and Emilia, all of Oswego, N.Y., his brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Maggie Plyter and their children, Russell, Andrew, Madilyn, Pierce and Cooper, of Mayport, Pa.; his wife’s sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Mike Oquendo and their children Miguel, Allie and Anna, of Forest, Va. and many friends and family.
Lance was born on August 23, 1970 in Endicott, N.Y. He graduated from Sodus Central High School in 1990. He married his sweetheart and soulmate, Carolyn in 1999. Amongst his jobs, he will be most remembered as a security guard at Genworth from 2000 through 2013. He made many friends during his time there.
Lance loved gardening, woodworking, and birdwatching. He loved and was loved by everyone who knew him. He enjoyed playing cards and boardgames with his friends and family. His laugh was infectious, and everyone was greeted by his warm smile. But most of all, Lance loved his Lord and Savior and God’s praise was always on his lips. He loved God’s Word and enjoyed teaching it to others. His favorite verse was 2 Corinthians 12:9-10. Throughout his life, he was able to look beyond his health issues, trust God’s plan for him and focus on the needs of others more than his own. He was a good and faithful servant.
In order to maintain social distancing during this time, a drive-by visitation will be held at 24 Ross Woods Drive, Rustburg, Va. on Sunday, March 14, 2021 from 1p.m until 4p.m. all are welcome.
