Larkin Eugene Nelson

Larkin Eugene Nelson, 89, of Bedford, died Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the VA Medical Center in Salem. He was the husband of the late Katie Irene Fogle Nelson.
Born on February 11, 1925, he was a son of the late Thomas Calvin Nelson and Ella Dianne Watson Nelson. In addition to his parents, Larkin is preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters; and a sister-in-law, Anne Nelson.
Larkin was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was a US Navy veteran having served during WWII. He retired from Bedford Weaving Mill after 33 years of employment.
Larkin is survived by his sister, Beatrice Roark; brother, Frank Nelson and wife, Barbara; and special friends, Jeanine and Elmer Hatcher.
