Larry C. Lauder

Larry C. Lauder, 58, of Concord died in the loving arms of his family Saturday December 24, 2011. He was the devoted husband of Marlene C. Lauder.

Larry was born August 1, 1953 in Tacoma Park, Maryland, a son of Charles and Avis Earley of Front Royal. Gunnery Sgt. Lauder retired honorably after serving his country in the U.S. Marine Corps for 20 ½ years, serving through Vietnam until the Gulf War. He then worked as a Project Manager for Granite Services International. Larry had many interests which included: his Friday Family of Veterans at Monument Terrace, Harley Davidson Motorcycles and riding in the mountains, computers, AutoCad, NASCAR, his 1965 Mustang, and 60\"™s & 70\"™s muscle cars. He also enjoyed Marine Corps aviation, in particular the AV-8 Harrier, weapons, shooting, gadgets, politics, and photography.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his two daughters: Crystalle d\"™Vonne Ramey of Charlotte, NC; Lari Clarissa Lauder Waldron of Swansboro, NC; a son Jesse Aaron Swanson of Albuqueque, NM, five grandchildren: Susan Day of Swansboro, NC; Devon Lauder of Troy, NY; Alexandra Rose Waldron of Swansboro, NC; Sadie Che Swanson of El Paso, TX; and Jesse Michael Swanson of Los Lunas, NM, a sister Sandra Lauder Wallace and husband Grady of Lake Como, FL; brother Charles Earley, Jr. and wife Sue of Front Royal, sister Julie Earley Curry and husband Jimmie of Front Royal, brother Randy Earley and wife Kathleen of Chester Gap, his former mother-in-law Edna Pritchett Scott of Front Royal, and numerous nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by a brother Scott Earley.

A Celebration of Larry\"™s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday December 28, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with David Harker officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
