After a courageous fight, the Lord said, “let him rest”. On Sunday April 3rd, 2022, Larry Clint “Fluffy” Nichols Sr. was called home.
Larry was born on November 13, 1962 to the late Leonard W Nichols and Mildred R Nichols. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Wanda Nichols, father in law James Sexton, and his honorary son Shane Key.
He was known for his work ethic, love of the outdoors, and his ability to crack a joke without blinking an eye. More than anything, his greatest joy was his family
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Clara Donna Sexton Nichols, his son Larry Nichols Jr and wife Brittany, his grandchildren Scarlet Nichols, Payton Hostetter, Laddy Hostetter, Maddi Johnston, Dale Overstreet, Adam Overstreet, Easton Outhong, Addalyn Outhong, and Aiden Key. Whom he loved with all his heart.
He is also survived by his sister Linda Foster (Bobby), brothers Sammy Nichols, Charlie Nichols, Mark Nichols (Teresa), mother in law Patricia Sexton, sisters in law Elizabeth Rucker (Printice), Sarah Padgett (Cary), brother in law James K Sexton Jr (Teresa), and host of nieces and nephews that filled his heart with joy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Big Island Rescue Squad, a Leukemia organization of your choice, or Hunters for the Hungry.
At this time, the family would like to thank Dr Kevin Patel, Dr Diane Rowell, and Dr Adam Shimer for their care over the past years and months. To Dr Dunn and the ER staff at BMH on April 3rd, we were blessed to have you as our care team and will be eternally grateful for your compassion and effort in caring for Fluffy.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 7, 2022 from 5-7pm at Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford. A graveside service will be held at 3:00pm on Friday April 8, 2022 at Virginia Memorial Park with Lee Cox conducting the service.
