Larry Dean Routon

Larry Dean Routon, 74, of Big Island, Virginia, passed away on April 9, 2025. He was born on August 28, 1950, in Lynchburg, Virginia, a son of the late James “Dean” Lester Routon and Josephine Turner Routon. In addition to his parents Larry was preceded in death by his special companion Vickie Routon Hudson.

Larry is survived by his sons, Joshua Routon, and wife Stephanie, Jeremy Routon, Michael Paul Routon; grandchildren, Kadin Routon, Colin Routon, Brinley Routon; sisters, Connie Routon Purvis, and husband Wayne, Lisa Routon Hodges, and husband Ronnie; nephew, Tommy Smith, and wife Tina; niece, Kimberly Deal, and husband Joe; grand dogs, Lizzy and Caper.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Tharp Funeral Home Chapel, Bedford, burial will follow at Big Island Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
