Larry Roger Willis

Larry Roger Willis, 75, of Forest, Virginia passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, April 22, 2025. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was the husband of the late Kathy Duncan Willis. 

Larry was born on June 4, 1949, in Bristol, Virginia, a son of the late Preston Willis and Gay Long Willis. Larry was an electrical technician by trade and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. He enjoyed traveling with his granddaughter to Anna Maria Island, Hardee’s biscuits and gravy, dinners with his family, visiting his brothers and sisters and good friend Susan Irvin, and dog sitting Mickey.

He is survived by a daughter Shannon Hawkins (Patrick) of Forest, Virginia, a granddaughter McKenzie Hawkins of Forest, Virginia, six sisters: Phyllis Seward, Betty Cooke, Kay Willis, JoAnne Coffey, Hopie Irvin, and Sandy Micklem, and three brothers: Mike Willis, Randy Willis, and Barry Willis. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. 

A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, May 10, 2025, in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with Pastor Jacob Uthep officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
