Lawnie (Buddy) Hyatt II, 53, of Bedford, Virginia passed away on December 11, 2023 after battling metastatic melanoma.

Buddy was born on March 22, 1970, in Ruston, Louisiana. He graduated from Choudrant High School and always strove to continue his education in many areas and in many ways.

Buddy was a member of Timber Ridge Baptist Church in Bedford, Virginia. Buddy loved to work. He loved to build things and put significant pride in a job well done. He loved to ride motorcycles in the mountains and try new restaurants. He recently finished setting up his wood shop and planned to build bird houses and anything else the family or community needed.

Buddy is survived by his wife: Kim Hyatt (56), parents: Leroy & Patricia Hyatt, brother: Jimmy Hyatt (Heather), niece: Mia Hyatt, nephew: Levi Hyatt, stepson: Cory Hamlin, stepdaughter: Angel Parkison (Robert) goddaughter: Tangila Bodhaine, grandchildren: Izzy, Jonny, Ryan, and Garrett, and many loving aunts, uncles, and friends.

Buddy was preceded in death by his son, Sammy T. and his grandparents: Ennis Hyatt (Nanny), Vernon Netherland, and Margret and Doug Culver.

Services will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1200 Farmerville Hwy, Ruston, Louisiana, in the Family Life Center, on January 6, 2024, at 2 p.m. followed by a potluck reception.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to The American Cancer Society.
