Lawrence “Booley” Edward Bolling of Lynchburg departed this life on Friday, May 25, 2018, at his residence, with his family by his side.

Booley was a graduate of Dunbar High School, Class of 1960. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier in Lynchburg after 25 years of service.

He was the owner of “Booley B’s Deli”, known for their delicious signature pita and hoagie sandwiches, located at the Lynchburg Community Market for 15 years.

Born on August 26, 1942, he was the son of the late Charlie Bolling and Martha F. Bolling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Charlie Bolling, Louis Bolling, Shirley Abbott and Martha Hubbard.

Booley leaves to cherish his memory his devoted and loving wife of 54 years, Patricia Ferguson Bolling, three devoted daughters, Charade B. Estes, Woodbridge, Va., Dana B. Goins (Kevin), Lynchburg, Va., Marlolessa M. Brown (Walter), Glen Allen, Va.; five grandchildren, Chelsea E. Estes, Arlington, Va., Cameran A. Nikitina, Derrick C. Toliver Jr., Lynchburg, Va., Karington A. Brown, Kaleb A. Brown, Glen Allen, Va., great granddaughter, Lillian M. Nikitina, Lynchburg, Va., a brother Gary Bolling, Lynchburg, Va., and five nephews; James Abbott, Lynchburg, Va., Ricardo Abbott (Elizabeth Turner), Washington, D.C., Marcus Hubbard, Alexandria, Va., Louis Bolling and William Walters, Philadelphia, PA, three nieces; Patty Hubbard, Dale City, Va., Deborah Brown (George), Lynchburg, Va., Charlene Bolling, Yeadon, PA, and lifelong friends; James “Boots” Marshall, Danny McCain, Robert Rosser, Chris Saunders and Paul Williams, cousins and other relatives.

A memorial celebration of Booley’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday June 3, 2018, at Tharp Funeral Chapel, 220 Breezewood Drive, Lynchburg, Va. 24502.

The family extends their gratitude to Centra Hospice nurses, Sherrie Warren, Jaime Carlstadt, Meagen Clonch, Sara Jones and Joe Langlois and caregivers Tracy Napier and Gloria Rucker for the loving care they provided Booley over the past two months.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Booley’s honor to Centra Hospice or the American Heart Association.

Family will receive friends at the residence, 1215 Krise Circle, Lynchburg, VA 24503.
