Lawrence “Larry” Schultz
Lawrence \"Larry\" Schultz, 73, of Lynchburg, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2012. Born November 26, 1938 in Camden, NJ; he was the son of the late B. Harry Schultz and the late Sara Griffith Schultz.
Larry served in the US Air Force during peacetime. He was a member of the SML Lions Club, an avid golfer, a connoisseur of trivia, and a devoted husband, father, and pappy.
Larry is survived by his wife of 47 years, Clara "Babe" Tietjen Schultz; daughter, Debra Schultz Ireland (Mark); son, Scott Harry Schultz (Gretchen), and four grandchildren, Ashley Sara Ireland, Shelby Kendall Ireland, Joshua Harry Schultz, and Audrey Mae Schultz.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: the Lynchburg Humane Society, 3305 Naval Reserve Road, Lynchburg, VA 24501 or the Peakland United Methodist Church Youth Ministry, 4434 Boonsboro Road, Lynchburg, VA 24503.
A Memorial service will be conducted 10 a.m., Saturday, September 22, in the Chapel of Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, with Rev. Jason Stanley officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
