Leah Christine France, 84, of Madison Heights, died Tuesday, February 20, 2018. She was the wife of the late Leonard Stanley France.
Leah was born September 20, 1933 in Bloomingdale, Ohio a daughter of the late Clarence Blythe Hawkins and Ella Ensell Hawkins. Leah honorably served her country in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the Nazarene Church.
She is survived by two daughters: Xieminia Lynne France Shrader of Madison Heights and Patricia Leigh France Kohorst of Richmond, two sons: Mark W. France of Waldorf, MD, and Jeffrey P. France of Madison Heights, one brother Warren Hawkins, nine grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2018 at Tharp Funeral Home, Madison Heights.
A Celebration of Leah’s Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home, Madison Heights with the Rev. Gregory Tyree officiating. Interment will follow at Andrew Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery in Springwood, VA.
