Lee Roy Irvine, 78, of Lynchburg, VA passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2010.
He was a loving Husband, Father, Grand Father & Friend to many!! He was a big man with a heart of Gold!! He always thought of everyone before himself and spent most his time helping others.
Roy was born August 25, 1931 in Clifton Forge; he is the son of the late Lucian and Mary Miller Irvine. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. He was a retired foreman from Metal Ores and Fines.
In addition to his spouse Carol, he is survived by his children, David Irvine of Highland Park, MI, James Irvine of Farmington Hills, MI, Ken Irvine and his wife, Kim of Carmel, IN; his stepchildren, Jeff Heap and his wife, Jessica of Ohio, Terri Houston and her husband, Sam of Coleman Falls, Todd Friess and wife, Casey of Big Island, Brian Heap of Roanoke, Kara James of Lynchburg, Kendra Mason and her husband, James of Forest, 24 grandchildren, 5 brothers, 3 sisters and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 \"" 9:00 pm at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg tonight January 22, 2010. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home on Saturday, January 23, 2010 with Rev. Ed Nelson officiating.
