Lee Sutton Booth, Jr.

Lee Sutton Booth Jr., 69, of Lynchburg passed away suddenly on September 19th 2011. Lee was born on July 22nd 1942 in Danville, Virginia. He was the son of the late Lee Sutton Booth Sr. and Eleanor Pritchett Booth. He was a long term member of Holy Trinity Church.

 

In addition to his wife, Mary Nygaard Booth, he is survived by a daughter, Kari Booth Kelly of Raleigh and  a son, Landon Miles Booth of Lynchburg, his sister, Mary Drake Booth Johnston of Lake Gaston N.C., grandchildren, Patrick Joseph Kelly III and Mary Kallan Booth, a niece, Eleanor Lee Johnston and nephew, Paul Taylor Johnston, Jr.

 

Lee was innovative in the furniture Industry with the Lane Company of Altavista for 36 years, where he served in the capacity of vice president. He was especially proud of his family and will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and friend.  Lee attended and played sports at Virginia Episcopal School and went on to play golf at the University of Virginia. He was very patriotic and was proud to serve his country during the Vietnam War as an officer and pilot in the Navy, on the USS Coral Sea. Always loving a good game of golf, Lee was quite often found on the golf course having a laugh with family and friends.

 

The family will receive friends at 6:00pm on Friday, September 23rd at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.

A celebration of Lee\"™s life will be held on Saturday, September 24th at 3:00pm. at Holy Trinity Church with the Pastor Dennis S. Roberts officiating.
