Lelia Belle Wilson Goff, 89, of Bedford, went home to be with her Lord Sunday, July 13, 2014. Born January 30, 1925 in Bedford; she was a daughter of the late Jerry Wilson and Ellie Pippins Wilson.
A founding member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church, Lelia was currently a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She kept her Bible by her bed, reading it daily. She enjoyed gardening and attending Bible study classes, especially one receiving certificate of completion from Liberty University.
In addition to her parents, Lelia was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Gibson Goff; two sons, Roger Goff and Linwood Goff; a granddaughter, Christie Kennedy Wilson; and a son-in-law, Ricky McKinney. Surviving are four daughters; Doris Burton and husband, James, Carolyn Overstreet and husband, Pat, Nadine Kennedy and husband, John, and Ellen Mabry and husband, Eldred; eleven grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; three sisters; one brother; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Goff; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM, Wednesday, July 16, 2014 in the Chapel of Tharp Funeral Home with Pastor Ray T. Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in Hunting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with a reception afterward in Camden Hall. Family and friends will be received Tuesday, July 15, 2014 from 6 until 8 PM at Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.
