Leona Dunlap Washburn
Leona Ellen Dunlap Washburn, 78, of Forest, passed away on August 18, 2012 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born in Williamsport, PA on June 18, 1934, a daughter of the late Dorsey Dunlap and Leona Grace Butts Dunlap.
Leona was a member of Mt. View United Methodist Church in Forest. She loved sewing, fashion, decorating, design, spending time with her husband and her family. She was an avid fan of Frank Sinatra and loved shopping.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years S. John Washburn; two children, Gerald S. Washburn and his wife, Michaela C. of Forest and Ronald Washburn and his wife, Jana of Jupiter, Florida; two grandsons, Christian Washburn and Andrew Washburn; sister, Joyce Crossley and husband, Skip of Beacon Falls, CT and other family members and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Leona\"™s life will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Mt. View United Methodist Church in Forest with Pastor Steve Propst officiating. Burial will follow in Virginia Memorial Park. The Family will receive friends after the burial back at the church. Arrangements by Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, (540)-586-3443.
