Leonard Calvin Mcgann

Leonard Calvin McGann, 61, of Lynchburg, passed into the light August 12, 2013. His parents, Dickie and Dorothy McGann greeted him with love. He married Ms. Kitty in 1991 and she will keep him close as she cares for the life they built together. His daughter, Amber Waite, lives in Florida with husband, Tim; and sons, William and Ben live in the area. Leonard was so proud of granddaughter, Audrianna, born in December to William and Brittany. Brothers, Richard, Gene, and Patrick, live in Lynchburg with wives, Linda, Jodi, and Vicki. Sister, Diane Gibson is in Delaware and sister, Andrea Little in North Carolina with husband, Keith. The children, grandchildren, and many cousins all flourish with busy lives. Cousin Pat and Cecil Floyd hold a special spot.

A brick mason for 30 years, Leonard learned many skills and built a lovely home 20 years ago on a 40 acre piece. Active for 25 years in 12 step programs, he inspired many. Involved in two caving clubs, he spent 10 years having adventures and helping conservation of caves. Retiring early, he found his calling as he created beautiful native style wooden flutes that brought him great fame, friends, and joy as the music he found in each piece of wood inspired so many lives. He was truly honored to have his life be so blessed, but the gifts of love and friendship he sent forth touched everyone he met. His was a life well lived.
