Leroy Smith Clingempeel

Leroy Smith Clingempeel, 84, of Forest died peacefully Tuesday February 14, 2012 he was the husband of Glenn Jennings Clingempeel.

 Leroy was born April 13, 1927 in Philadelphia, Penn., a son of the late Leroy Smith Clingempeel, Sr. and the late Louall Lyman Clingempeel. Leroy honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II and then retired as a sales representative from Shenandoah Brokerage firm. He was also an active member of the Fort Hill Lions Club and Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church.

 In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Carol Clingempeel Jones McGrath and her husband Richard of Elon, brother William Miller Clingempeel and his wife Anna of Florence, SC, grandson Robert Cole Jones and his wife Ann of Fairfax, and two great-grandchildren Tyler Jones and Erin Grace Jones both of Fairfax.

 In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his infant son Gregory Lee Clingempeel.

 A Memorial Service for Leroy will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday February 22, 2012 at Quaker Memorial Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Burton Newman and the Rev. Luke Farwell officiating. The family will receive friends at the reception in the church fellowship hall following the service.
