Lewis C. Yowell, 72, of Madison Heights, VA entered eternal rest on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at his home.
Lewis was born in Culpeper, VA on September 6, 1946 to the late John W. Yowell, Jr. and Katherine Moomaw Yowell.
He is survived by his brothers, William M. Yowell (Julie) and John C. Yowell, four nephews, Michael Jorgensen (Laurie), Eric Jorgensen (Teresa), Jeffrey B. Jorgensen (Mechelle) and Bryan D. Sprinkel, and special friend Tom “Moose” Mallory and their families.
Lewis is also survived by his loving family Tim and Patty Robertson and their children, Carlton Saunders (Jeanna), Tess Jones (Anthony) and Hunter Coles, six grandchildren all of Lynchburg. Lewis had many special friends who loved him, Joe, Cordine, Gwen, Rhonda, Connie, and his baby Nore’.
Lewis was employed at Lynchburg Sheltered Industries for 23 years and was a faithful employee.
Lewis was a child of God who attended St. Stephens Episcopal Church of Culpeper at an early age and continued his worship at the First Baptist Church South Lynchburg. Lewis loved first responders, especially firemen. Lewis enjoyed Challenged Sports, bowling was his favorite sport when he was not playing board games. He was a fantastic jigsaw puzzle solver and loved cats and dogs, especially his dog-dog “Molly”.
A Memorial Service for Lewis will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 13, 2019 in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg.
