Lewis Luck Donald, 76, of Evington died at home with his family by his side, Thursday, April 7, 2011.
Born in Botetourt County, July 28, 1934 he was a son of the late Mace Henry Donald and Annie Patron Donald. Lewis was a member of First Assembly Church of God, and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad.
He is survived by two daughters, Barbara Pettus of Evington, Carolyn Sue Eckart and husband, Michael of Bedford; two sisters, Eunice Lyles of Bonsack, and Marguerite Bramlett of Roanoke; two brothers, Eugene Donald of Blue Ridge, and John Donald of Bedford; four grandchildren, Steven Eric Donald, Christopher Michael Eckart, Melisa Ann Pettus, and Cassandra Felicia Pettus; two great-grandchildren, Morgan Tackett, and Hailey Lambert.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Creasy; a brother Ray Donald and a son-in-law, Alphonso Pettus.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2011, at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 1861 Jordantown Road, Thaxton, VA, with the Pastor Chuck Foshee officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
