Lillian Edith Wilkerson Thompson of Rock Hill, South Carolina and formerly of Lynchburg, Virginia passed away January 30th, 2016 at White Oak Manor of Rock Hill.
A native of Lynchburg, Virginia, Mrs. Thompson was born April 24, 1919, the daughter of Homer Bradley and Virginia Lee Wilkerson. She was a homemaker who spent many hours sewing, cooking, canning and gardening which she loved. She was a lifelong member of West Lynchburg Baptist Church, the Amazing Grace Senior Choir, the handbell choir, and the Joy Sunday School Class.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pharr Alfred (Buck) Thompson, as well as a grandson, Michael Thompson.
Surviving are her children; Carolyn Thompson Wilson and husband, Bill of Rock Hill, SC, Robert Kenneth Thompson and wife, Pam of Madison Heights, VA, Richard Bradley Thompson of Forest, VA, and her granddaughter; Theresa Thompson Heavener, whom she raised and husband, Willie of Clearbrook, VA.
She is survived by 7 grandchildren; Billy and Michael Wilson, Shelley, Kenny, Bobby, Chris and Rob Thompson. She is also survived by 4 great grandchildren; Dylan, Trafton, Emily and Kenzlee Thompson.
A memorial service will be at West Lynchburg Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday February 3, 2016. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service. Burial will be private.
Our family wishes to thank Westminster Towers Retirement Community for providing many enjoyable years for our Mother after she moved to Rock Hill from Lynchburg.
We would also like to thank the wonderful staff at White Oak Manor for the compassionate care given Mrs. Thompson during the last year of her life.
