On January 15, 2014 The Lord took home the sweetest angel to Heaven, our Mom, Lillian Gertrude Fielder, 88 years old. We were blessed to have the most wonderful, loving Mom ever. She is now reunited with Dad. What a sight that would be to see. We have never known two people more in love with each other.
Our Mom will be greatly remembered for her Love of God, and love and dedication to her family. She also adored all of her wonderful friends at Timberlake Baptist Church, and Lord knows—-Mom never met a stranger.
Born May 17, 1925 in Tazewell, she was a daughter of the late David Jewett Harry and Maude Virginia Borne Harry. When WWII broke out, Lillian went to Washington, DC to work and that is where she met, the love of her life, our Dad, Julian. In 1969 they moved back to Lynchburg where they owned and operated the Timberlake Dairy Queen (now named Koffee Kup). She was active member of Timberlake Baptist Church. They were married 68 years until Dad passed away on August 19, 2011.
In addition to her husband and parents, Lillian was preceded in death by brothers, Wade, Connor, Walter, and Curtis Harry; sisters, Margaret Harry, and Connie Aronson; and daughter-in-law, Barb Fielder.
Left to cherish her memories are seven children: Gerald Alan Fielder of Lynchburg, Karen Lynn Kates and husband, Bob of Baltimore, Sonja Lee Allen and husband, Doyle of Forest, Keith Maurice Fielder, Janet Elaine Fielder and Guy Burnette, and Joyce Ann Harker and husband Lewis all of Lynchburg, Greg Thomas Fielder and wife, Daneen of Winchester; brother, Claude Harry of Texas; sister, Gail Schwensen and husband, John of Maryland; brother-in-law, Sylvan Aronson; 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Tharp Funeral Home from 1:00 \"" 3:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held at Tharp Funeral Home on Monday, January 20, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. conducted by Pastor Larry Brodie and Richard Jett. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park.
