Lillian Eubanks Graves

May 13, 1945 — March 2, 2024

Lynchburg

Lillian Geonara Marie Eubanks Graves ,78, from Lynchburg VA, peacefully passed away on March 2, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on May 13, 1945, in Lynchburg, Virginia, to the late Charlie Eubanks and Mary Jane Robinson Eubanks, she graduated from Dunbar High School in the class of 1963. On June 13, 1964, she married Duval Graves, Jr., and from this union, her beloved son Anthony M. Graves was born.

Raised with strong faith instilled by her parents, she was a lifelong member of First Church of Jesus. Lillian devoted her life to her family, church, and son. She worked at St. John's Nursing Home alongside family members and retired from Centra at Lynchburg General Hospital after 26 years of dedicated service.

She cherished spending time with family and friends, dining out after church, and engaging in heartfelt conversations with her sisters about any and everything. Lillian had a warm heart, enjoyed laughter, and found joy in seeing others smile. Her son, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy, evident in the numerous photos, blankets, and mugs adorned with their pictures in her home. She loved her visits to North Carolina to see her nieces and the visits from her nieces and nephews. Lillian was a woman who always kept her blinds open, eager to see what was happening outside. Her love touched many lives.

Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Duval Graves Jr., sisters Ida Frey, Catherine Hughes, Mattie Hall, Louise Kyle and brother TC Eubanks. She is deeply missed by her son, Anthony M. Graves(Sonja), her grandchildren: Jeri Lawson (Justin), Anthony Graves Jr., and Nikalas Graves, her great-grandchildren: Aliyah, Justin, Jaxon, Brayden, Toni, Noelle, and Leilani, her sisters: Mary Penn, Willie Davis(Ernest), and Mildred Eubanks, her brother Bishop Alon Coleman, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
