Lillian “Tillie” Oulds Jones, 75, of Evington, Va., departed this life after a long battle with cancer on Saturday, December 3, 2016. She was preceded in death by a devoted husband Lawrence J. Jones.
Born January 21, 1941, in Lynchburg, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Stephen M. Oulds and Lillian A. Oulds of Evington, Va. She was also preceded in death by five siblings: Carl, Ralph, James, Steven and Mable.
She graduated from the Campbell County School System and attended Central Virginia Community College. She retired from Ericcson and the Campbell County Department of Social Services. She was a devoted member of Mt. Evergreen Baptist Church where she served faithfully until she took ill. She also attended St. Luke Baptist Church faithfully as well. She was a die-heart Redskins Football Fan. She loved life, singing, dancing and having fun with others. Also known as “Ms. Lillie”, she loved gardening and fishing.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Remonia Oulds Davis of Forest, Va., Patricia Kennedy (Floyd) and Lawrence Jones (Lisa) of Lynchburg, Va.; five sisters, Geraline Avery, Luwatha Dawkins (John), and Consuella Barbour (Vincent) of Evington, Va., Mary Calloway and Cecelia Hull, both of Lynchburg, Va.; and one brother, Bruce Oulds (Betty) also of Evington, Va.; nine grandchildren, Aaron Jones of Lynchburg, Va., LaMar Kennedy (Jennifer) of Norfolk, Va., De’Jon Kennedy (Ashley) of Norfolk, Va., Shavar Kennedy (Jessica) of Ohio, Danyelle Kennedy and Emmanuel Kennedy both of Lynchburg, Va., Stephen Davis, Lowell Davis and Darien Davis, all of Forest, Va.; 11 great- grandchildren; four sisters-in-law, Kathleen Oulds of Evington, Va., Shirley Jones of Baltimore ,Md., Barbara Watts (William) of Lynchburg, Va., Gloria Mattro of Chesapeake, Va.; a brother-in-law, Curtis Jones (Josephine) of Lynchburg, Va., and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
