Lincie Ann Barnes Briscoe, 65, of Thaxton, died Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at her residence. She was born March 2, 1949 in Richmond, VA, a daughter of the late Alton Anthony “Babe” Barnes and Willyne Smith Barnes.
Ann was a devoted mother, co-owner of Black Goose Chimney Sweep, and a member of Thaxton Baptist Church. She started the local Tea Party and was an active participant in local government issues. She loved playing video games, reading, gardening, and most of all spending time with her family. Ann was also known for her quick wit and broad sense of humor.
Ann is survived by her husband of 28 years, John Truman Briscoe; three children, Emma Caitlin Briscoe, Benjamin Phillip Stuart Briscoe, and Thomas Douglas Shelburne; one granddaughter, Alexandra Michelle Shelburne; one brother, Alton Barnes; one niece, Nicole Barnes; one nephew, Matthew Barnes; and her close friends, Jackie and MC Davis.
A celebration of Ann’s life will be conducted, 11 AM, Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Tharp Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Krantz and Steve Arrington officiating.
