Linda Sue Reed Galyean, 72 of Lynchburg, died on Wednesday, February 19, 2014. She was the wife of Jerry Galyean for 55 years.
Born Sunday, March 29, 1942 in Rogersville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Warren Reed and Sarah Tate Reed. She was a member of Timberlake United Methodist Church. She lived her life as a good Christian, giving and caring for others.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughters, Gay Galyean Thornsbury and husband, David of Boonville, NC and Dr. Teresa A Galyean and husband, Byron Stanbery of Hillsville, grandchildren, Amanda P. Stanbery of Charlotte, NC. and Cullen W. Stanbery of Hillsville, two brothers, Richard Reed and John "Al" Reed both of Lynchburg, two sisters-in-law, Barbara Pickett of Bluefield, WV., Joan Tolley of Pamplin, a brother-in-law, Andrew \"Buddy\" Galyean of Henry, devoted nieces, Kim & Katie Collurafici of Pamplin, a special friend \"the other Linda\" Caplinger and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2014
at Tharp Funeral Home Chapel, Lynchburg with Rev. Dr. J. Monty Fox officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior.
