Deaconess Linda Delphine Watson, 68, of Lynchburg, peacefully transitioned on Monday, August 26, 2024. Linda was born on September 23, 1955, to the late Louise Andrews Anderson.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Perno T. Anderson, Sr.; grandparents, Julia and John Andrews; a special aunt who was like a mother, Judeal Banks; a great-niece, Emersyn Woodson; a loving cousin, Laura Banks; and a stepson Andre Watson.

At an early age Linda joined Forest Level Baptist Church where she served on the Deaconess board, young adult choir, and the senior choir. Later in life, she joined her husband at Holcomb Rock Baptist Church where she continued to serve on the Deaconess board and Mass Choir. She loved to go shopping, traveling, spending time with family, but most of all her love for the children that was in her life gave her true joy.

Linda is survived by her loving husband and “Boo” of 26 years, Bobbie Lee Watson, Sr.; sisters, Ruth Moss (Kurt), Patricia Andrews, Barbara Eggleston (David), Barbie Randolph, and Felicia Hatch; mother-in-law, Bernice Watson; brother in law, Rev. William Watson (Huzell); sisters in law, Sophie Lacy, Vernice Robertson, Kathy Watson, Dorothy Lambert (William), and Mary Jackson; step children, Eric Sparrow (Cindy), Towanna Crawley (James), Bobbie Watson, Jr. (LaTasha), Bryan Watson, Latoria Watson, Keith Sparrow and Jason Watson; a host of special step grandchildren; and many other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Linda was loved by her entire family and had two special angles that were near to her heart, niece Stephanie Brown and granddaughter Shamya Coleman. 

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at Holcomb Rock Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. Interment will be in the Holcomb Rock Baptist Church Cemetery.
