Lionel William Toms, 72, of Bedford died Monday February 22, 2016. He was the husband of Mary Linda Toms.Lionel was born December 27, 1943 in Bedford a son of the late Dewey E. Toms, Sr. and Louise DeWitt Toms. Lionel worked for many years as a security officer at the Elks Home. He was a past member of the Elks and the Main Street United Methodist Church.In addition to his wife he is survived by his son Jason Lee Toms of Bedford, a daughter-in-law Melinda S. Toms of Bedford, one grandson John William Toms, II, a brother Dewey E. Toms, Jr., and his wife Dora of Bedford, two nieces and one nephew.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, John William Toms.
