Betty “Liz” Tyree Silvea, 73, of Lynchburg died Tuesday June 2, 2015.
Liz was born November 6, 1941 in Lexington, a daughter of the late Emmett L. Tyree, Jr. and Eunice Haymaker Tyree. Liz loved art, enjoyed painting, and also had a passion for all animals.
She is survived by her children: Elizabeth Nunn Peeler and husband Tony of Lynchburg, Eric Lawton Silvea and wife Kim of Lexington, and Emily Silvea McAllister and husband Todd of Crozet, a sister Susan Tyree Blankenship and husband Danny of Chesterfield, and a niece Laura Sargeant Richardson of Austin, TX.
The family will hold a private graveside service for Liz at Stonewall Jackson Cemetery in Lexington, VA.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Lynchburg Humane Society, 1211 Old Graves Mill Rd. Lynchburg, VA 24502.
Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
