Lloyd Foster Eagle

Lloyd Foster Eagle, 76, of Lynchburg died Monday September 24, 2012. He was the loving husband of the late Evelyn Clark Eagle for 56 years.

Born May 1, 1936 in Appomattox County, Lloyd was a son of the late John Asa Eagle and the late Tencie Martin Eagle Jamerson.

Lloyd is survived by his son Mike Eagle and his wife, Diane, of Forest, his daughter Vickie Yost and her husband, Wendell, of Lynchburg, two grandchildren: Gene Yost and his wife, Alison, of Lynchburg; and Becky Epperson and her husband, Brandon, of Rustburg; two great grandsons: A.J. Yost and Cameron Epperson; two sisters: Ann and Gracie Campbell; and a brother, Jessie Eagle.

In addition to his wife and parents Lloyd was preceded in death by a sister, Sissy Cannon, four brothers: Dillard, Tom, and Bob Eagle, and Charlie Jamerson.

Lloyd was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Family was very important to him. He always put others needs in front of his. He loved to tell stories, especially tall tales. He was a Nascar fan, with Dale Jr. being his favorite driver. He especially loved the old Western Movies, and listening to Hank Williams. All these came in second to his love of the outdoors, whether it be hunting, fishing, or working in his garden. Lloyd retired from Falwell Well Corporation after working there for 35 years.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg and all other times at his daughter\"™s home.

A Celebration of Lloyd\"™s Life will be held at 11:00 AM, September 27, 2012 in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg with the Rev. Carlton Duck officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank Dr. MacCallum, and Dr. Brady, and the staff of Lynchburg Oncology for the loving care given to Lloyd.
