Lloyd “Pete” Faulconer Holloran, 79, of Lynchburg died Tuesday, April 7, 2015. He was the husband of Patricia Sandidge Holloran for 34 years.
Pete was born June 10, 1935 in Faulconerville, a son of the late Lloyd E. Hollaran and the late Eloise Faulconer Holloran. Pete was a 1953 graduate of Amherst County High School and a 1957 graduate of Virginia Tech. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army and worked for Craddock Terry and then retired from Consolidate Shoe Company after 20 years as an Assistant Sales Manager. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #321, the R.O.M.E.O’s and Peakland United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a son Steven Holloran (Angie) of Forest, a daughter Devon H. Lane of Seattle, WA, two step-daughters; Cynthia Shoemaker (Paul) of Winchester, England, and Beth Boyer (R.F.) of Fredericksburg, seven grandchildren: Tyler Holloran, Caitlin Riegel (Juilen), Kirsten and Ian Shoemaker, Madison, MacKenzie, and Matthew Boyer, One sister Patricia “Patsy” Gayle Holloran of Amherst, a aunt Phyllis Shrader of Amherst, his father-in-law Thomas Sandidge of Lynchburg, brother-in-law Phil Sandidge, sister-in-law Mary Sandidge and numerous cousins.
A Celebration of Pete’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday April 18, 2015 Peakland United Methodist Church with Pastor John Vest officiating. A reception will follow the service. Interment will be held privately at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
