Lois Elizabeth Aldridge

Lois Elizabeth Aldridge born on April 12, 1926 in Salem, VA. She peacefully left this earth on Saturday August 24th, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Elizabeth Showalter, her loving husband Winfred \"Wink\" Aldridge, a brother John \"Mickey\" Showalter, grandsons David Moore, Cade Aldridge, and granddaughter Alicia Aldridge. She leaves here on earth a sister Margret Guthrie of Roanoke, daughters Sandy (Dave) Brunson of Roanoke, Shirley Chittum of Roanoke, Jean (Jim) Redding of Winston-Salem, NC, Joyce (Mike) Stanback of Roanoke, Yvonne (Frank) Rhudy of New Castle, VA, sons Billy (Suzanne) Aldridge of Charlotte and Jimmy (Debbie) Aldridge of Birmingham, AL. Also she leaves 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Lois was a member of 9th Street Church of the Brethren and had a strong love for animals especially her dog Boomer and cat Bootsie. She loved to cook for her family and was an avid bird watcher. She will be laid to rest alongside her beloved husband Wink at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. The service will be held at Abbey Chapel inside of Sherwood Memorial Gardens on Wednesday August 28th 1:00Pm. Arrangements by Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford, (540)-586-3443.
