Lois Jane Huggins (Ochsenbein)

August 10, 1937 — May 2, 2024

Lois Jane Huggins (Ochsenbein), age 86, formerly of Wellsburg, WV,  passed away on May 2, 2024. She was lovingly surrounded by family at her home in Rustburg VA.  Lois was born on August 10, 1937 to parents Jack and Pauline Ochsenbein in Lansing, OH.

In life she walked hand in hand with her best friend and husband, Kenneth as they lived and raised their family in Wellsburg, WV.  Lois and Kenny had many adventures as they traveled and lived in an RV for many years, visiting family and seeing the United States. Their marriage spanned a remarkable 65 years, a testament to their unshakable bond and mutual devotion.   Her role as a mother was marked by her encouragement of her children’s ventures, helping them walk paths outside of their hometown.

Lois’ legacy is seen in the lives of those she cherished – her loving husband, Kenneth; her children, Kirk (Ann), Laura Martlock (Rob),  Brenda Holzknecht (Tom); her grandchildren, Ian (Mariah) Christopher, Sarah (Brad), Mason (Bethany Louise), Airenn, Shawn, Audrey & Bethany; and 6 great-grandchildren

In addition to her parents, Jack and Pauline Ochsenbein, Lois is predeceased by her brother, Arthur Ochsenbein.

Throughout her working years Lois held several jobs most notably working within the Technology Department at Bethany College and serving as Office Manager at RPM Industries, Inc. from which she retired. Her professional life was a reflection of her loyalty and diligent support she provided to all she met.

Her wisdom and ability to speak the truth in love reflected her commitment to following God’s leading in her life.  Lois’s faith was the cornerstone of her existence, and she nurtured other’s spiritual life by her quiet faith and led others to seek the Lord by her example. She was a member of several Bible-believing churches over the years as they lived in different states - WV, FL and VA and before her illness kept her at home, at Hyland Heights Baptist Church.

To honor Lois’s memory a small Celebration Of Life will be held at a later time.   Memorial contributions can be made   in her memory to The Gideons or Our Daily Bread Ministries Devotional   http://secure.ourdailybread.org/planned-giving/#memory-giving . Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, VA is assisting the family.
