Lois Mae Lucas

Lois Mae Lucas, 81, of Roanoke, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday Sept. 18, 2017 in Daleville, following a hard battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
And her heavenly father called her home, the battle was over. And now walking hand in hand with the Lord and her family. She is getting to enjoy some much-needed rest. She was born Jul. 23, 1936 in Waubay, SD.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Lucas; parents, Alice and Frank Brooks.
Surviving family include: her son, Jeff Washenberger and wife Patty; a brother, Frank Brooks; grandchildren, Ryan Washenberger and wife Michelle and Amanda Mullins and husband Matt, Derek Washenberger and wife Amber, Michelle Pratt, Katie Dolin and husband Jeremy. Also surviving is her close friend, Barbara Brooks. She is also survived by: 10 great grandchildren that she so enjoyed getting to spend time with. And numerous nieces. She never met a stranger, and was always looking out for others. She had a wonderful loving heart and always tried to help the less fortunate. Last but not least, she leaves behind her furbaby, George. He would go to the nursing home to visit her every time her son Jeff would go, it always put a smile on her face to sneak him treats.
There will be a private family memorial service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made either to the Parkinson’s Foundation or your local S.P.C.A.
