Lois Yvonne Elder, 81, of Lynchburg, Va., died Thursday, June 14, 2018.
Born Saturday, January 30, 1937 in Lunenburg County, Lois was a daughter of the late Edith and Monroe Crenshaw.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Gaynell McCormick and two brothers, Calvin Crenshaw and Phillip “Jerry” Crenshaw.
Lois is survived by her children, David Elder and his wife, Donna, of Forest, Mike Elder of Cullen and Chris Elder of Lynchburg, three grandsons, Joshua, Corey and Travis, two sisters, Audrey Bowles of Farmville, Peggy Talbott of Halifax and a brother, Hugh Crenshaw Sr. of Green Bay and a very special friend for the past 25 years, Charlie Weaver.
Lois had a cheerful spirit and a loving heart to all who knew her. She never met a stranger. She attended Thomas Road Baptist Church regularly and loved to listen to Charles Billingsley. Those who knew her loved her dearly and her presence will be deeply missed. She was a true animal lover with two cats, Latte and Abby and dog Molly. She will be deeply missed by all.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:30 pm on Sunday, June 17, 2018 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, June 18, 2018 at 10:00 am in Cullen Baptist Church Cemetery in Cullen, Virginia.
