Lola Mae Adkins, of Lynchburg died Tuesday February 22, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Auld Lincoln Adkins.
Lola was born in Lynchburg a daughter of the late William Palmateer and Viola Hudson Palmateer. Lola loved arranging and designing flowers at her own shop called \"Lola\"™s House of Flowers\" for many years. She was also a past member of Centenary United Methodist Church, the Eastern Star, the Hill City Chapter of the American Business Women\"™s Association, and a Past-President of the Greenstone Social Club.
She is survived by her three sons; Douglas Adkins and wife Kay of Augusta, West Va., Robert Adkins and wife Debbie of Concord, and Michael Adkins and wife Lynn of Sterling, and nine grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter Loretta Booker.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 26, 2011 in the chapel at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery
