Lorene Campbell Thomas

Lorene Campbell Thomas, 81, of Lynchburg, VA, entered heaven on December 24, 2015. She was the loving wife of A.D. Thomas, Jr., for 60 years.
Born Wednesday, January 31, 1934 in Amherst County, VA, Lorene was a daughter of the late Obie B. Campbell and the late Birdie Humphrey Campbell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Jewell C. Campbell and a nephew, Dennis C. Tyree.
In addition to her husband, Lorene is survived by four sisters, Burnell C. Tyree, Delphinia C. Hannah, Daphine C. Cash, and Carolyn L. Campbell.
Lorene received her R.N. Degree from Lynchburg General Hospital and served in the field of medicine in many capacities, even opening and running a clinic for the underprivileged. She was loving and caring to all who knew her and although she will be greatly missed, we are comforted in knowing her beautiful spirit will always be with us.
A celebration of Lorene’s life will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg,
