Louis Beatty

 

Louis Beatty, 81, of Forest, passed away Friday, April 27 2012, after an extensive struggle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Ruby Russell Beatty.

Louis was born on November 30, 1930, in Polk, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Albert Beatty and Isabel McKane Beatty. He retired from the Air Force where he proudly served during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons; Robert L. Beatty of Forest, James E. Beatty of Ft. Oglethorp, GA. and Raymond E. Beatty of Forest; a brother: Raymond R Jewell of Franklin, PA.; two grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren.

Louis was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.

A celebration of Louis\"™s life will be held on Monday, April 30, 2012 at 11:00 am at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, with Chaplain Wayne Lanham officiating. Military honors will be performed by The American Legion, post 16.

At his request, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lynchburg New Pediatric Wing at Lynchburg General Hospital.
