Louis F. Lievre, age 77, of Goode went home to be with The Lord on Saturday, September 19th. He is survived by his wife, Patricia of 54 years; sons, Mark, Kevin, Bryan and David; daughters-in-law Lori, Shelly, Nancy and Julie; grandchildren, Alec, Casey, Amber, Kyle, Laura, Emily, Matthew, Jessica and Jon; sister, Jeanne Summerville; and nephews, John and Roger Summerville, niece, Donna Cerulli, and their families.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father Blanche (nee Adam) and Felicien Lievre, both from Switzerland.
Lou was born and raised in Queens, NY (Astoria) and following military service settled on Long Island to raise his family. Retiring to Goode, he realized a long time dream of having a quiet life and a swimming pool.
Most of his working career was as a Switchman with New York Telephone. Prior to that, he served his country for 10-½ years as a Meteorologist in the United States Navy. His tours of duty included Guam, Lakehurst, NJ, Quonset Point, RI and aboard two ships-the USS Norfolk and the USS Canberra.
Funeral services will be held at Brookhill Wesleyan Church on Wednesday, September 23rd at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Joe Horrell officiating. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service beginning at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Brookhill Wesleyan Church, 1043 Cifax Road, Forest, VA 24551.
